ADVANCE AND PASSION

ADVANCE

Students in Advance have been working on a Passion Project, and volunteering at a local community organisation for the year. Congratulations to Kiera Witton and Hailey Belvedere who worked with Anne at Friends of Hillside Lodge OP Shop.  Well done for your organisation and commitment.  Thanks to Anne for providing this opportunity.    Well done to Caitlin Ware who worked with staff at Korumburra Primary School to support students with their learning, demonstrating empathy and reliability,  and thanks to KPS for hosting her.  Well done to Rhiannon Rawlins and Hayley Brown who have been delivering meals in Korumburra and Leongatha as part of the Meals on Wheels program.  Their clients have become very fond of their smiling faces on a Friday.  Well done to these students for their organisation and compassion.

PASSION PROJECTS

In Passion Projects, students have worked on their own piece of learning for the semester and the results are outstanding. Chloe Jones and Kirrah Belvedere created some beautiful jewellery, Jasmine Hastings learnt to build a website – you can see her excellent work here: https://jmhas7.wixsite.com/the-interstellar-gui and Zac, Darcy, Harvey, Curtis and Will have spent time working with Ms Dawson to plant out many of the empty garden beds around the school. They have done some excellent work.

We also had students creating podcasts, editing photographs, building model tiny-houses and learning to read Braille.  It has been a very interesting semester of learning!

Well done everyone.
