Year 10 Eco/Law Old Melbourne Gaol, Old Magistrates’ Court, Court District and Parliament House excursion.
On Wednesday November 2nd our Year 10 Eco/Law class had an incredible day in the city. We started off at the State Library before heading to the Old Melbourne Gaol for a tour. The class learned about the conditions faced by prisoners at that time, hearing stories about Ned Kelly’s hanging and the various ghosts said to haunt the Gaol. After a walk to check out the city court district, we returned to the Old Magistrates’ Court to participate in a courtroom drama on a culpable driving case where the class showed off some fine acting skills. We then walked down to Parliament House for a highly informative tour. The class asked some great questions and learned a lot about our Victorian Parliament. The students represented their school fantastically well, being respectful and engaged at all times during the excursion.
