Dear Parents,

Thank you to the children, staff and parents for the calmness in managing Monday afternoon's situation involving the flooding and road closures. Unfortunately we were provided with conflicting information during the day, which made making a decisive decision regarding having students exit the school as a preventative measure, impossible. I thank everyone for their patience, understanding and support on Monday. Thank you to the staff who did an amazing job on Monday, stayed late to support and look after children until they could be picked up and ensured everyone was kept calm and safe. For those impacted by the floods, our thoughts are with you all.

Yesterday in Parkes, our Bathurst PS Cricket team played Parkes and won the game and became Western Region Cricket Champions for 2022. Wow! We are so super proud of the team and Mr Thackray. Such an incredible achievement. Thank you to the parents for their ongoing support of the team and providing transport so our children get to play. Such an incredible opportunity. Our team will now travel to Coonabarabran on Monday 20th of November to play Tamworth PS in the Regional NSW Final. Good luck to our team and Mr Thackray.

We have had to move our School Captain nominee speeches due to some of our children representing the school. The Captain speeches will now be held on Friday 25th of November commencing at 9.30am in the McMullen Hall. We ask our Year 5 Captain nominees to wear their full school uniform for speeches and have clothes they can change into after speeches are completed (as Friday 25th November is a free dress day).

We have had lots of enquiries regarding the Band program for 2023. Please return Band notes to the office by Friday 18th November. If children did not receive a note, please contact the office at school and a note will be sent home. Notes should be returned to the school so further information regarding enrolments can be supplied to parents.

Our School Concert on Wednesday 23rd November is shaping up to be incredible entertainment. There are still tickets available for the Matinee performance. The children are so excited to show our parents and community how great we all are. We are so proud of every child and how they are 'having a go' during Concert time. Notes regarding the organisation for the Rehearsal Day on Tuesday 22nd and Concert Matinee and Evening performance on Wednesday 23rd November have been sent home. Parents are required to either grant permission through the Sentral Parent Portal or sign and return the note to school. Copies of the note can be found on the Newsletter.

Our Year 6 Mini Fete will be held on Friday 25th November. Year 6 are doing a wonderful job putting lots of fantastic activities together for the rest of the school. Tickets can be purchased for 50c each from the front of Miss Bennett's room each day.  The Year 6 Mini Fete day will be a free dress day, so children do not need to wear school uniform (we ask our Year 5 Captain nominees to wear their full school uniform for speeches and have clothes they can change into after speeches are completed). We look forward to the Year 6 Mini Fete at the end of Week 7.

If any parent has any queries about any aspect of school life, please contact the school.

Regards
