Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)

For the last couple weeks, the year 7/8 students have been enjoying taking part in the preparation for our end-of-the-year concert. They have been rehearsing our beautiful song in the Performing Art room every Tuesday and Thursday morning. The students even created their own costumes by painting and adding decorations to their caps. On top of that, the students also had a wonderful time exploring different animals, plants and habitats at Werribee Zoo as part of their Inquiry and Travel Training topic. So, it was quite eventful and exciting for year 7/8 in the last 2 weeks!"

Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)

The year 9/10 students have been improving on their employability skills each week by working in the Hungry Jackson café.

Last week was our best week! Students demonstrated teamwork while cooking together in the kitchen. The service team demonstrated amazing problem solving and initiative while adapting to all the changes on the day.

 The Jackson staff couldn’t be prouder of our growing learners. Students are so engaged in the café and are building job skills for their future.

Senior Secondary (VCAL/ASDAN)

Hasn’t the year flown by but what a fun year it has been for Jackson’s ASDAN classes. This past few weeks students have been involved in a variety of work experience opportunities and started to enjoy some adventurous journeys to new places such as Williamstown and Altona. Next week we have ASDAN’s ‘celebration week’ with fun excursions planned to Werribee Zoo, Sun Theatre (Yarraville) and bowling at Highpoint. 

Ceres

We had our last day at Ceres on Wednesday.

We went to our gardens, harvested food, watered the gardens, and fertilised.

When we returned to our room, we prepared our picnic lunch. We made a salad out of our vegetables from the garden. Abi made a potato salad and ordered some toasted sandwiches for us to enjoy.

We went to the garden to have our picnic. It was fun and enjoyable.

Abi awarded us with our certificates, and we had our group photo.

Last Day of School

As a year 12, today is our last day of school. 

We have really enjoyed VCAL this year. The

 experiences we had were Camp Project, Industry Exploration and finishing our courses in VET & SBAT. We are so relieved. We are going to miss everyone when we leave school, but we are looking forward to the next chapter of our lives. Good luck to everyone at Jackson, this has been a wonderful part of our lives.
