Webinar: Vaping – what parents and carers need to know

Parents and carers are encouraged to join a webinar co-hosted by our department, the P&C Federation NSW, and NSW Health on Thursday 10 November, 7 - 8pm.

 

The webinar will help parents and carers understand more about the facts on the health risks of e-cigarette use (vaping), and where to find helpful resources and information. Please share with your school community to raise awareness.

Register online Participants who are not P&C Federation members should register as a community member.

 

The webinar panel includes Dr Kerry Chant, PDHPE Curriculum Advisor, @Renee West, and Dr Bronwyn Milne, Head of Department Adolescent Medicine, Sydney Children's Hospital Network, Staff Specialist Paediatrician and Addiction Medicine Specialist.

KOALA COLOURING COMPETITION

We are getting ready to judge our koala colouring competition. Entries will be displayed next Saturday, 12th of November at the Black Gully Music Festival.

We welcome the community to come along and see the Koala Detection Dog Demonstration at 1.30pm and meet the Koala Team from Southern New England Landcare and learn more about koalas.

Northern Tablelands Orienteering Club

Twilight Series #3

Town event Lynches Rd Armidale

On Thursday 10 November Northern Tablelands Orienteering Club is hosting an event at the netball courts, Lynches Rd corner of Judith St in Armidale. There is no need to register in advance, just turn up on the day. Newcomers of any age and ability can join in at their own pace individually or in small groups.

 

It is a 45 minute course. You get one point for each control that you find and one point penalty for each minute late. Entry fee $5.

 

You will need a smart mobile phone with the MapRun6 app downloaded onto it. A new version of MapRun6 can be found on their web site. Experienced orienteers can show you how to get started. Look out for orange signs showing where the event starts. Dogs are permitted at town events but must be kept on a lead.

Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms, have tested positive in the past week or live with someone who has, and maintain social distancing at the check in and finish.
