The C-Pen

Recently, we have had some very exciting new technology purchased to help our students with their learning.  One of the most exciting purchases has been a C-pen.  The C-pen is a portable text to speech scanner.  This pen basically makes it possible for students to scan text and hear the text read back by a human like digital voice.  The C-pen is a totally portable, pocket size device, which makes it easy and convenient to use where ever and when ever it is needed.  Another feature is a full Collins English Dictionary, if the nib is held on a word it displays the definition and reads it aloud.  It can also be used as a scanner to capture text and then upload it to a PC or Mac.

The purchase of these pens will have far reaching effects for children who struggle with reading.  The confidence of these students will be boosted and in turn this will allow them to feel more confidence and inclusion in the class room.
