From our Principal

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

As Term 3 draws to a close I wish all families and students a safe and restful holiday period. It’s a time to look after yourself and each other. Enjoy a well earned rest and we look forward (fingers crossed) to seeing you back on-site in the not too distant future.

In the meantime on the back of the recent appointment of our College Captains and this week’s announcement of our House Captains enjoy getting to know our College Captains.

How many siblings do you have? I have 3 younger siblings who will all be at St. Peter’s College next year.

Favourite Food? Nachos, sushi, pasta…pretty much anything!

Name one hobby or interest: My main hobby is basketball.

Favourite Movie, TV show or series? I love the TV series Friends and my favourite movie is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Fun Fact about me: I’m a swim teacher.

I want my legacy to be? That I was a person that people always felt comfortable talking to and that was able to make a positive impact on the school. I also hope that I can be remembered as helping to create a supportive and fun environment for everyone in 2021.

One piece of advice to students seeking leadership opportunities is: Always be yourself especially in your application and speeches, I know people say it all the time but it’s super important to show everyone who you are and what qualities you have, and not the qualities you think people want you to have.

My hope for St. Peter’s College is: That we can continue to be an inclusive community that encourages people to always try their best and give everything a shot, even if it means getting out of their comfort zone.

My motto for 2021 is going to be:  Appreciate and enjoy every moment.

I want my legacy to be?  Someone who was not only able to lead, but someone who was able to show, and ensure the students felt comfortable in the environment they worked in.

One piece of advice to students seeking leadership opportunities is: Go for it, the worst thing that can happen is you get constructive feedback as to why you were unsuccessful, so I see it as a win win situation.

My hope for St. Peter’s College is:  To be open, welcoming and an engaging environment. Not just for students and teachers, but everyone who steps through our college gates.

My motto for 2021 is going to be:  “If you knew there was no tomorrow, how hard would you work today”

How many siblings do you have?  I have two siblings, an older brother Patrick and my younger sister Alyana who joined us as a year 7 this year.

Favourite Food?  This is a tough question, as I am a foodie at heart and absolutely love to cook. I’d have to either go with Shepherd’s Pie or Lasagne, it’s too difficult to choose just one!

Name one hobby or interest:  Outside of school, I love going to my kickboxing classes. It’s something I really look forward to and enjoy as it keeps me fit and healthy, plus I always learn a new trick or two!

Favourite Movie, TV show or series?  An all-time favourite movie of mine has to be The Devil Wears Prada— if you’re someone who has a passion for fashion, this movie is for you too! Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are amazing. Favourite TV show is definitely How to Get Away with Murder since I’m someone who loves her mystery and crime genres.

Fun Fact about me:  I only jump rope backwards, it’s how I learned since I was a kid and I somehow never figured out how to do it forwards!

I want my legacy to be?  To be remembered as not only a dependable College Captain, but also as a kind friend to the students of St. Peter's College who was always willing to listen. Above all, I want to walk out of those school gates hopeful that I had inspired at least one person here through my words and my actions.

One piece of advice to students seeking leadership opportunities is:  Leadership is doing what is right even when no one is watching. Make it your goal to inspire others to do the same. Leadership positions open up so many exciting doors! It is rewarding as much as it is challenging, but I promise you it is worth it.

My hope for St. Peter’s College is:  For us to flourish as a community and for student voice to be stronger than ever in 2021. I hope all students know that there’s a place for them and their passions at St. Peter's College no matter what.

My motto for 2021 is going to be:  You have everything to gain and nothing to lose by trying.

I want my legacy to be:  I want my legacy to be that I made a difference I lead by example and didn’t give up when it got hard.

One piece of advice to students seeking leadership opportunities is:  Try not worry and be nervous when going though the process of applying for a leadership position.
