A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 4;  a term where we have many exciting opportunities planned for our students. Tomorrow we begin the term with our school Athletics Carnival. We held off having our carnival in the hope that parents could attend but unfortunately the Diocesan advice is that parents still cannot attend. However, we will have many photos of the day in next week's newsletter for you to enjoy.

This week we welcome our new Kinder students for 2021 with our Kinder Readiness Program operating each Friday this term. Mrs Wendy Rheinberger will be leading this program and Mrs Meredith Thibault will be teaching our current Kinder students.

On Wednesday afternoon the Year 2 students begin their preparation to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. Thanks to Mrs Rheinberger and Mrs Batholomew who will assist in the lessons after school each week.

REAL TALK

I encourage all parents of students in Year 4 and Year 6 to take some time next Monday 19th October evening 6.00pm-7.30pm to link into the zoom meeting provided by the Real Talk team. You can join this meeting by clicking on the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82144618549

On Friday 23rd October the students will have their zoom lessons with the wonderful staff from Real Talk.

Our Book Fair next Thursday 22nd October which includes a fun dress up for the students is another event to be excited about. Students are asked to come to school dressed as an animal from the jungle.

Clare Lee is coordinating the return of our school canteen with a special Friday ‘Meal Deal’ which includes a main meal, a snack and a drink. If Clare gets enough support we will run the canteen each Friday so I encourage you to help Clare... what a great way for the students (and staff) to end the week with a special healthy meal. Just give Clare a call on 0409 079 932  to offer your assistance.

Even though the Diocesan Brain Olympia competition has been cancelled we will be running our own Brain Olympia this term for the Year 3/4/5/6 students in Week 6 of this term.

Finally, I look forward to witnessing enormous growth in your child’s learning due to the efforts of the students, the dedication of our teachers and your parental support.
