Virtual Soirée #2 - Now available for watching

EDSC Music is proud to announce our second Virtual Soirée for your viewing pleasure at home. This concert features Zac (guitar), Yianni (piano), Gordon (tuba), Josh (piano), Ken (trombone) and Yuki (flute).

A reminder that the first concert is still available for viewing as well:

Virtual Soirées Invitation

While the first of our virtual concerts mainly feature VCE Music Performance students who have been pre-recorded in performances at school, we would also like to invite all of our student musicians to prepare a video-recorded performance from home and send it to their teacher for approval. Please make your video performances as formal as possible (ie. not in a bedroom), play with a recorded accompaniment if possible, and film in horizontal format, not vertical/portrait. Recording on a smartphone or iPad/tablet is usually fine unless the device is very old.

With recent Cycle 4 assessments and possible AMEB exams approaching, there should be quite a few students with pieces at various standards ready to ‘perform’. Remember you do not need to be advanced to prepare a great performance at your particular level.

In order to be considered for the next Virtual Soirée, videos must be submitted to Mr Williams by Monday 7 September.

Remote Learning - camera reminder

We are noticing some students not turning their cameras on during this period of remote learning. Students (and parents) should understand that the effectiveness of an instrumental music lesson is extremely limited when teachers cannot give guidance on posture, fingering, bowing or other factors which are only determinable when students can be seen. We again encourage students to be suitably dressed and situated in an appropriate room where turning cameras on does not cause any privacy issues. Teachers will be giving much more effective feedback to those students who they can see during the music lesson.
