Year 7 Food Technology

The Year 7 Food Technology students have been researching fruit and vegetables, designing and producing healthy rainbow lunches. Each different coloured fruit and vegetable has unique nutritional benefits that contribute to our health.

Why should green vegetables such as spinach, kale, broccoli, peas, green apples, limes, beans, kiwi and avocado be eaten?

Green vegetables and fruits are packed with vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, folate and fibre. Eating lots of green produce can help reduce the risk of some types of cancer, helps maintain strong teeth and bones, and promotes healthy vision.

To make sure you’re getting all the essential vitamins and minerals that fruit and vegetables can offer, you should ‘eat the rainbow’!
