City of Kwinana RSL - Remembrance Day

The King's College was represented by Pastor Michael Battersby and Paris C when they attended the Remembrance Day memorial service hosted by the City of Kwinana RSL. They led in the singing of the National Anthem and presented a beautiful rendition of "I am Australian" to commemorate our country's heroes.

City of Kwinana - Light up the Square

The King’s College was invited by the City of Kwinana to be part of the "Light up the Square" Christmas event. Pastor Michael Battersby, along with some of our peripatetic music students, Paris C, Tiyya T and Charlie V, represented the College and engaged the community in bringing Christmas cheer with their beautiful singing.

Chapel by Candlelight - Light the Way

There is nothing quite like singing Christmas carols together, especially when led by the beautiful voices of our combined Praise Team choir and the Chapel Band. The whole school got to celebrate Christmas together and enjoy a fun little take on the importance of LIGHT. It was a chapel service with a difference as the Creative Club crew, Mr Orlando dos Santos, the College mascots and 300 glowing LED candles taught us how to LIGHT THE WAY and bring God’s hope into the world!

Thank you to the parents who came and supported the students. A special shout-out to Pastor Linda Battersby and the catering team, Miss Yvonne Wong and the Music Captains who set up such an amazing array of Christmas snacks for all our guests.

Watch out for next year’s special program!

King's Worship Academy Graduation

The King’s Worship Academy graduated another 32 students from its ministry training programme. This initiative plays an important role in raising up musicians and singers in churches across Perth, including our very own Year 11 and 12 VET students.

The service featured items, testimonies and award presentations as we hosted over a dozen worship teams, including church leaders from around the city.

It was a fantastic time of networking in our delightful school courtyard as we shared refreshments and stories of how we have grown in our love for serving God through music and worship.

We look forward to what 2021 brings -  great Christian training and influence to the College and the city!

KCFM

The King’s College Radio Station KCFM has been creating quite a bit of interest recently within the student cohort. Year 9 Journalism students have been busy writing and recording weekly Community Information updates to share the latest goings-on in the College, and there is also eager anticipation of new opportunities in the new year for students to begin their own “podcasts”. Under the guiding hand of media teachers, they will learn to develop and create programmes from concept stage, right through to production.

KCFM station broadcasts worldwide through free ios and android phone apps. Student contributions are also available on-demand through the station website www.kingscollegeradio.com and Soundcloud.
