2020 Art Program Term 1

Hi everyone welcome to art 2020 ...

Jess and I are sooooo excited about this year!!!

That’s right, we now have the fabulous Jess working in the art department.

We warmly welcome Jess. She will be taking art on Monday morning, all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday.

I will also be taking art on Monday and all day Thursday and Friday.

This term is going to be huge ...... with Multicultural Day in week 7 (not many sleeps) !!!!!

So most classes will be starting on art tasks but also doing projects for Giuliano. So watch out ... things are going to get very busy!!!

The preps this term are looking at the works of Vincent Van Gogh and are creating a collage/water colour painting of The Starry Night.

The grade one and two students will be learning more about Henri Matisse and his paintings. We will be recreating a still life based on his artwork of the Goldfishes.

Grade 3 and 4 students are beginning a unit of work on weaving. Starting with a Footscray West favourite..... straw weaving.

The Grade 5 and 6 students are working on portraits with a difference.

I would like to say big thank you for all the donations already!! We really appreciate you thinking of us!

A big shout out to Lucas family for the generous donation of brand new art smocks!! Wow ...... big thank you!!!

Also Janine for taking our new artroom labels home to laminate.....we are lucky to have such a lovely artroom friend... Big thank you !

If anyone would like to help and be an art volunteer please pop in ..... we would love the extra pair of hands.
