BrainSTEM Challenge

Four Year 9 students (Merridy Mansfield, Jalillah Duncan-Berkelmans, Nadia Rush and Madi Scott) are undertaking the Regional BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge this term. The BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge is in its ninth year for metropolitan areas. This year is the first year for the challenge to occur in Regional Victoria. This opportunity has been made available to us by the Gippsland LLEN.

During the challenge, these students will use the design thinking process to solve a real-world problem relating to “Food and Fibre”. They are working closely with industry mentors from GippsDairy for 12 weeks and their problem will be looking at employment opportunities in the agricultural industry to find out how employers can connect with correctly skilled workers.

Students will present their solution to industry partners and community members on Wednesday 30th October at the Gippsland Tech School, Morwell.
