Hari Kemerdekaan Activities (Indonesian Independence Day Activities)

In the week following Indonesian Independence Day, 17th August, all Indonesian classes participated in traditional games played on this day. Before this the students had a brief lesson on Indonesian independence. The activities were all organised and ran by Bu Dessy, our Indonesian language assistant and enjoyed by all participants. We discovered a strong competitive streak in some students that we did not know existed. The games played were:Lomba Balap Karung (Rice Sack Race),Lomba Makan Kerupuk (Eat Cracker Competition), Lomba Kelereng (Marble Race using Spoon and Balloon), Lomba Pecah Balon (Break Balloon blindfolded, directed by partner).
