Principal's Report

Bazaar

It's not long now! At the most recent Bazaar meeting, last week, it was great to see lots of new faces who joined us, as the food stall organisation was covered. The team behind the Bazaar has done and continues to do a mammoth job. This is going to be an amazing event.

At assembly the school leaders revealed one of the rides and talked through how the ride wrist band works  - for $35 you get unlimited rides for the day!

Each week the leaders will reveal one of the exciting rides that will be at the Bazaar. There was definitely a buzz of excitement when the first ride revealed was the Dodgem Cars! I wonder what the next ride revealed will be? Please see the Bazaar page in this newsletter for more information and to keep up to date with everything that is on offer and how you can be a part of it all.

Kinder 2020 Information Night

This week on Thursday 17th at 6.30pm the Kinder will hold the 2020 Information Night which covers the structure of the day and the curriculum we follow. Parents and carers will be able to pick up a handbook and with 2020 being our first time of offering long day Kinder it will be particularly important to come along and hear how that will run. Parents and carers will have the opportunity to ask questions also.

iPad Use Reminder

It has come to our attention that some students are receiving messages from parents during the school day and at times before and after school. This is not appropriate, as it puts a great deal of pressure on students to be managing things that are often out of their control. If you are running late please let the office know and we can let your child know and where they can wait to be safe. Messaging for other reasons causes a huge disruption to your child's learning. This also includes smart watches which will fall under the same policy guidelines as the updated mobile phones policy. Many parents will be aware that the Department of Education has released new guidelines which we are currently reviewing to update our policies. Briefly, all mobile phones need to be switched off and stored securely during school times. Wearable devices, Ipads and all other personal devices must have notifications turned off.

BYO iPAD Information Evening

It's that time of year again when we hold our Year 2 Parent information night about our BYO iPad program. We also wlecome any families who will be new to the school in 2020 to attend. Its an excellent opportunity to ask questions too.

This year we sent one of our biggest teams to compete at the District Athletics. I thank Cassie Brisbane for all the preparation of students and organisation to ensure everything ran smoothly for our team. Congratulations to Usman, Maddie B and Isaac who one their events. And congratulations to the whole team on the way they represented the school and themselves - there was excellent sportsmanship on display.
