Year 5/6—Celebrating Learning

MAINSTREAM

In our Science unit we have been exploring renewable energy and how to store it. We have been investigating solar power for water heating and water power. We are finding out ways our school can use renewable energy. We have used fair testing to investigate our hypothesis, record the evidence and draw conclusions. 

 

Despite a very last minute change to 5/6JA’s first attempt of the Minecraft program at Quantum Victoria,mainstream students have enjoyed exploring resource management within the Minecraft system. These excursions are part of our project with Quantum Victoria to improve their inclusion of the sustainability practices of Aboriginal people prior to invasion. 

 

STEINER

In Term Two and Three the children of 5/6S formed groups and started creating an artistic representation of an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus. They cooperated successfully to share visual ideas based on existing Egyptian artwork from ancient times. They used paper, pencil and paint to complete the beautiful artwork that will be on display soon.
