Curriculum

Week 4 was yet again another exciting week! In Writing we started learning about the text type Factual Recounts. We wrote a recount of our Walking Excursion with a focus on  Ollie openers and paragraphs to sequence our recount. Students also had a look at Biographies and had a go at creating their own, we will spend some time on this in week 5 as well!

Literacy Groups this week we explored text to self and text to world connections, we spent time thinking about how we can connect our experiences to what has happened in the text. We also defined the difference between a text to self and text to world.

We continued with mapping and directions in Maths, the students showed off their directional language and knowledge by creating a treasure map of the class. Students created a birds eye view of the classroom and then hid some treasure, students then identified landmarks using a grid reference and used directional language to give a partner instructions to find the TREASURE!!

The highlight for the week was the Walking Excursion, we were so lucky to have the most magnificent weather! We completed a scavenger hunt finding key signs and everyday items along the way. Each class walked their own route and also had a special treat of testing out the kiss and drop off zone in MRS STREITBERGERS CAR! A big thank you to all our parents who came along we couldn’t have done it without you!

Student Voice

Please ensure all hats and drink bottles are labelled and are coming to school every day.
