Principal's Report

Aussie of the Month

Congratulations to Lily K who was awarded Aussie of the Month for October. Lily constantly strives to be the best she can be. She demonstrates a love of learning in all curriculum areas and is self-motivated to improve and develop her skills and understandings. Lily is a reliable and dedicated member of the class, always willing to help out those in need and assist her peers to achieve success. She is polite and patient and always upholds the school values. Lily is willing to share her ideas and is often looked to as a role model in their class and learning centre.

Lily has a wonderful sense of humor and always makes other people smile, especially her teachers. She takes on a range of extracurricular activities. Lily demonstrates responsibility and leadership through her role as SRC, participates in Girl Guides and swimming lessons outside of school, and finds time to help look after her little brother and sister.

She did an outstanding job as a time traveller during the Junior School Production, and was very excited to read the Pupil of the Week awards during the Year Two led Assembly last week. Mount Pleasant Road P.S. is lucky to have Lily as a member of our school community.

BYO iPad Information Session

Thank you to all the Grade Two parents for attending our BYO iPad Information Session last week. It was a great opportunity to find out how ipads are used in Years 3-6 and the success of the program in catering to the wide range of learners at our school.  Presenters answered questions that had been raised by way of the attendance slip. Representatives from Edunet were also on hand to explain the ipad leasing program and answer any questions.  More information on the ipad program was provided in the hand out and will be discussed during Information Nights in 2020.

eSmart

Our school Instagram account is a great way for us to share our learning with the school community. By following the school, you receive real time information on what students across the school are learning and share in special events. The intended audience is our parent community, not students. Instagram along with other social media sites are suitable for children 13+. To assist in adhering to this we have recently made our school account private and will not accept requests from current students. Any unfamiliar or unrecognisable accounts will also not be accepted. We appreciate your support in ensuring we are all safe and responsible online.

Thank you Parents

In celebrating World Teacher's Day it was great to see the student prepared video clips at Assembly. Staff were also surprised and very appreciative of the wonderful morning tea put on by our parents. Thank you everyone who took time out to say thank you to their teacher!

Foundation Orientation

The first of our four Orientation Sessions was held last Wednesday. It was great to see so parents attending, which hopefully was facilitated with our new time slot of 8.30 - 9.30. I thank the Foundation teachers and Specialist staff who are working around us to help make the program work so well.

Pleasant Bazaar

The Pleasant Bazaar is not that far away! Make sure that Saturday November 23rd is in your diary and you have set some time aside to assist with the Pleasant Bazaar. This is our major fundraising effort for the year and we need every family to volunteer in order to make it a success. The money raised will go towards improvements to the Basketball Courts and playgrounds in the Kinder and School.  Remember that if you volunteer you are not only supporting the school in its fundraising efforts but there are many benefits in your participation as well. See the Bazaar News page for how to go about volunteering.
