Principal's News

Dear Families,

A big thank you to all those involved in the filming of our school promotional video. I am sure all our parents, children and teachers will be proud of the final product and we look forward to sharing it with you. Katia and Richard, from Village Green Films have worked with a lot of schools to produce similar work  but have mentioned, many times to me, what a wonderful sense of welcome and community they have felt in their time here. They were extremely impressed by all the things we are able to offer here at Trinity and the great sense of connection and appreciation the members of our community have for this school.  The video is now in post production and we are hoping it will be available to us by the end of the Term.

School promotion & Marketing

Further to the work being done to promote and celebrate our school we are looking at all aspects of our current school advertising and marketing material to ensure it is up to date and reflective of our school in 2021. Any changes, updates and reviews we make will always be respectful of the great history of our school and we will seek input form our parents, children and staff. In updating our school website we will be looking to refresh the school logo and its online impact. Next week Ms Smith, Ms Marinelli and I will be seeking opinion on some of the ideas we have explored so far. We may stop you at drop off or pick up time and if you have a few minutes to spare we would love your input.

Congratulations

On behalf of all of us at Trinity I would like to send our warmest wishes and congratulations to Ms Celia Williams who will be getting married in the coming school holidays. We wish her all the best on this very special occasion.

School Closure Day

Last Friday, all our staff were involved in a Berry Street Professional Learning day which was the final part of a 5 Day intensive Professional Learning Program for Teachers.  In the Berry Street model all school staff are considered teachers as they each have a role to play in our children's social and emotional development. Having a school closure day enabled all staff to participate so that we are able to implement a 'whole school approach', which research shows has the greatest impact for schools.   Thanks to our parents for supporting us in this important work.

Student Voice & Leadership

Ms Antonella has been doing a wonderful job working with our Student Leaders in the SRC. It is great to hear the interesting conversations and see the ideas raised by this group in their meetings. At the most recent SRC meeting leaders were asked to rate how well their classes were learning and they gave this a 9/10. They were also asked to rate how well the children in their classes were working together and for this they scored it 8/10.  The group also discussed things that they felt our students needed to work on, such as keeping our playground clean and the actions they would need to make this happen.  It is very satisfying to know we have such capable and responsible children in our school.

School Improvement - Values Survey.

There was definitely a very wide range of values chosen by our community as being important for us to focus on. Of course we will always do our best to cover as many of these as possible in all the teaching we do, as each of them has an importance in our lives. However, the value of Respect was clearly the most chosen which highlights for us the importance of teaching our children about this value and how to actually live it in their daily lives. As we continue to develop our school improvement plan, the major school values we choose will reflect the opinions of all members of our school community.

Wet Weather Plan

On days when rain occurs during school breaks students will remain indoors either in their classrooms or the Multi Purpose Room. When rain occurs before school all children must make their way to the Multi Purpose Room which will be opened by the teacher on duty. Students will then be collected by their teachers to be taken to their classrooms.

School Ambassadors

I was so happy to meet those parents who were able to attend our "School Ambassadors" Gathering on Tuesday afternoon. The purpose of the meeting was to share ideas about how parents can best support us in promoting our school, raising much needed funds and developing the social interaction of our families. We now look forward to working together to develop and implement the great ideas discussed.  If you were unable to attend and would love to help in any way, we will always need volunteers throughout the year and will greatly appreciate any amount of time and effort others are able to give.

If you have any questions about our Parents & Friends Group please contact

School Lunches Satisfaction Survey

Thank you to all those who responded to our School Lunches Survey. Based on the majority of responses we will be looking for an alternative supplier for next term.  We will endeavour to ensure good quality food with a wider range of options at a reasonable price.

Kind Regards

Mr Nigel Rodrigues
