STUDENT REPORTERS
SEXUAL AWARENESS MONTH
APRIL
By Jasmine Hastings & Grace Villinger
It is not a secret that in society sexual awareness happens and now we have a whole month to especially dedicate our thoughts and money to sexual awareness victims and fundraisers.
The official colour for sexual awareness is teal, so on the first of April, I highly encourage each and every one of you to wear a teal accessory, whether that be on your shoelaces, ribbon in your hair or on your wrist, some form of jewellery or a scarf. Just something small to show your support for all the brave women and men who have been affected by others in this way.
If you or someone you know has experienced or is experiencing sexual assault, speak up. If you are scared, this is just a reminder that stymie is always there if you would like to be more anonymous about it. You can also call "Kids Helpline" if it has happened in the past and you are still traumatised. Just know whoever you speak to, even if it is federal, they will believe you and help you in any way you see fit.
