Student Successes

Congratulations to our St Philip's College language students!

Last month, with Education Perfect, we celebrated language learning where students registered to compete with other schools all around the world, answering as many questions as possible in French and Japanese but also German, Spanish or any other languages made available to them.

I’m delighted to share the achievements of our students in the 2021 Education Perfect Language Championships (EPLC)!

St Philip’s College Alice Springs came:

5th overall in the NT (out of 8 schools)

1st in French (out of 6 schools)

2nd in Japanese (out of 7 schools)

3rd in German (out of 4 schools)

5th in Spanish (out of 7 schools)

Congratulations to Year 7 student, Bayan Nikmehr for his amazing achievement. Bayan answered 1,695 questions during the Education Perfect Languages Championships 2021. A very impressive number!

I look forward to celebrating more of our students’ achievements in Languages.

Science and Engineering Challenge

Over the break, a group of five St Philip's College students participated in the Science and Engineering Challenge run by the University of Newcastle. Students who attended the day included Iris Chenhall, Sidhak Dhingra, Naomi VanDen Berghe, Keely Hayward and Melanie Robinson.

All students enjoyed the day thoroughly and some even came back the next day to help volunteer for the year 5/6 Discovery day.

Please see below photos from the day and a link to more info about the event.
