Welcome to our Staff Newsletter

I am pleased to deliver to you our first edition of our new staff newsletter.

This newsletter published on a regular basis with the enhanced message board features of Manad Plus and text messaging will provide an improved communication stream to you.

Resident COVID-19 Vaccination

I am pleased to announce that first dose COVID-19 vaccination clinic for residents at Wharparilla lodge will occur in the week commencing Monday 17 May 2021. Aged care residents continue to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine through on-site vaccination clinics.

Staff COVID-19 Vaccination

The Commonwealth Government is currently reviewing/reconsidering the planned vaccination rollout for aged care workers. This means the planned on-site vaccinations as well as dedicated off-site vaccination clinics have been halted.

For aged care workers aged 50 years and over, GP clinics and GP respiratory clinics continue to offer and provide AstraZeneca vaccinations for those eligible in line with the new recommendations.

For aged care workers aged under 50 further advice from the Commonwealth Government will be communicated to you when it is available.

Staff Influenza Vaccination

Please don’t forget to book your influenza vaccination as I am expecting it will be mandated again this year.

Building News

The Enterprise unit is currently undergoing a minor update and refresh. The works include removal of a wall to increase the size of the lounge area, new furniture, new blinds and a new large screen television. It is anticipated that building works will be completed by the end of May 2021 and new furniture etc. to be delivered by the end of June 2021. We have received a grant to the value of $69,100 from Perpetual Philanthropic Services to undertake the works.
