Risk & Quality

In the coming months with the introduction of Manad there will be an upgrade in our quality system. This includes the way we record and manage our CI plan, risk registers, meetings and feedback. Manad will allow us to generate reports, set discussion items and collate important details from all registers to improve our overall management of continuous improvement and ensure information is communicated to all relevant people effectively and efficiently.

Furthermore, a new system is in the process of being updated for the delivery of policies, processes, form updates and clinical audits. This is an online system personalised to Echuca Community for the Aged developed and updated by our governing body LASA, ensuring our policies reflect the most current legislation and the aged care standards.

Currently, we are in the process of developing the annual self-assessment which will be submitted for accreditation. With the delays in the previous year it is unlikely we will be audited in our due month of September 2021, however we may be audited at any time by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, this will be the first time we will have had accreditation under the new standards. With the redevelopment of our education program the aged care standards will be a focal point, including resident outcomes, workforce and organisational responsibilities and correct terminology.
