Infection Control/ Education
Infection control: Just a reminder to all staff about dress code: All staff shall be neat, free of body odour, clean and well groomed. Fingernails should be clean and only short natural fingernails no artificial / gel, nail jewellery or nail polish allowed.
Hair should be clean, neat and appropriate to professional standards. Long hair (below shoulders) must be tied back and secured when providing resident care or in the catering department.
Uniforms should be clean and neat, in good repair and well fitting. All staff and volunteers are expected to wear name badges provided while at work. Name badges should be visible for clear display. Care staff are expected to have a watch that features a second hand or digital display to monitor vital signs. Jackets may be worn by staff working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Footwear should be such that it protects and stays on the feet. Fully enclosed shoes are required for all staff with the exception of administration staff. Shoes should be clean and navy or black in colour.
Education:
Upcoming educations sessions: Phlebotomy education for staff who are interested in learning how to conduct this or a refresher for those who are already advanced. Staff interested are requested to add their names to the expression of interest attendee sheet in staff room before 26/4/21. Dates of training to be advised after that.
Choking and swallowing education session scheduled for the 29th of April 2021 at 2pm for an hour. Staff that would like to attend can add their names to the attendee sheet in staff room.
Mandatory training: There will be mandatory trainings each month, which staff will be advised of once they are online (E3 learning) and also in house mandatory trainings running each month from August up to December 2021.
Manad: Manad support will be provided once we go live by Vik, Katie, Celeste, supervisors and also Team leaders.
- Feedback yellow forms will remain for residents who would like to make feeback by themselves. Other feedback reported to staff will all be logged on manad.
- The work log will be under my task and not organiser as previously advised in education sessions. Organiser will be for T/L and RN use only.
