YEAR 9 CAREER DISCOVERY - MORRISBY EVENT

On Tuesday 3 September all students in Year 9 will have the chance to complete their Morrisby Online Career Discovery assessment.  This is a tool that students can use to identify a range of factors about themselves, such as their learning and working ‘style’.

The results of the Morrisby Discovery Tool will be used by students when they start work on their Careers e-portfolio next term.  Students will have a session with a careers practitioner early in Term 4 to go over the report and discuss how they can use their results.

The Morrisby Discovery Tool and e-portfolio will be maintained by students over the next three years as they plan their future career pathway and transition from high school.  A reminder to all Year 9 parents/guardians that students will not have access to the Morrisby service unless consent has been completed.

VTAC PORTFOLIOS AND INTERVIEWS TO PREPARE FOR??

The SNAP team is pleased to offer your senior students the opportunity to participate in an exciting design workshop in the September school holidays.

Now in its eighth year, Ready Set Design is a series of three workshops for students in Years 11 and 12 where they can learn about careers and tertiary programs in design, develop their folio, and practice their interview and presentation skills.

Registrations are now open for workshop 3 (Interview Bytes), which will be held on Wednesday 25 September at RMIT’s City campus.

The Interview Bytes workshop will give students the opportunity to hear from a panel of RMIT design teachers and current students about what to expect during a program interview. The panel will share their experience as interviewers and interviewees, and discuss the kinds of questions students may be asked, as well as some techniques for presenting their folio to the interview panel.

To register their attendance, students must visit our event page, select the workshop they wish to attend, and provide their details. Students aged under 18 years of age will also need to return a consent form signed by their parent or carer.
