On Wednesday the 21st of April the Year 12 Outdoor Education students attended a 3-day expedition to the Grampians and Mount Arapiles area. The key focus was to develop relationships with the outdoor environments, through ecological, historical and social contexts. Students demonstrated this through interactions such as rock climbing, abseiling, hiking to the pinnacle, camping, exploring significant cultural sites which included a night walk to a 22,000 year old aboriginal rock art and visiting many different animals at the Halls Gap Zoo.

During these experiences, students were required to collect evidence and identify impacts of different forms of conservation, recreation, tourism and primary industries on this chosen environment as well and investigate the changing environment over time.  Overall, students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are now able to analyse and evaluate factors influencing this outdoor environment through their 3 day experience.
