Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Carers'

It has been a wonderful week as we celebrated Book Week 2022. The Theme was ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’. Our students have been taken on a journey through books as staff members across the school have visited classrooms each day and read a book to each class. The students have enjoyed the experience as they have been immersed in the wonder of pictures and words through the picture story books that have been read to them.

The Book Week Parade was another huge success, where we enjoyed seeing characters come to life at St Anthony's. Please find attached some photographs of the day.

I take this opportunity to highlight the success of our Foundation (Prep) students who have shown fantastic growth in Reading and Mathematics since the start of this year. The students were assessed using the Progressive Achievement Test at the start of the year in February and were assessed again this term. We are so proud of the amazing growth they have achieved particularly in the area of Mathematics this year. Congratulations to the students, parents, teachers and learning support officers who have all contributed to this amazing outcome. Please find the graphs below for Reading and Mathematics. Student names have been removed for privacy reasons. Each child is represented through the blue and red bar. The blue bar indicates their achievement in February and the red bar indicates their achievement in August.

Stay safe and stay warm

Kind regards
