Grade 3/4 News

Loving learning every day with Miss Radford, Mrs Jacobs and Miss Mawby!

Special help from Mr Hayward, Mrs Harrison and Miss Laura

We have had a busy couple of weeks in the 3/4 unit, and are very much looking forward to the holidays and having some time to spend with our families.

In Reading, we have just started reading Sunday Chutney, a fabulous story about a girl who celebrates all that is weird and wonderful about herself. In Writing, we are continuing to learn about independent and dependent clauses, and how to fix sentence fragments. We have been using conjunctions to join clauses to create more interesting and informative sentence, and trying to use our vocabulary words in our writing.

This week’s vocabulary words are: weird, worthy, marine, engagement, guess and design.

We are just finishing up our learning about chance in Maths, and have been making predictions about outcomes using a spinner. We have created our own games and rules using a spinner. In fluid groups, we are finishing up our work on place value and decimals and doing a revision of what we need to know about division.
