200 Nights Reading

A huge congratulations to Ava on completing 200 nights of home reading!

PJ Day Reward

In response to the amazing persuasive texts the students created that explained and supported their arguments as to why they should have a PJ Day at school, both 1/2 classes were rewarded with a PJ Day last Wednesday. It was a fun, cozy, comfy day that we all enjoyed and there was a surprise special treat of hot chocolates with teeny marshmallows at lunch time.

Our Learning in Multiplication

1/2 Fluid Groups have been exploring the different ways we can represent multiplication equations as; 'groups of', repeated addition and arrays.

Indigenous Literacy Day

A lively group of children in remote Milikapiti and Jilkminggan, in the Northern Territory joyfully shared their Stories, Cultures and Languages.

They excitedly responded to an unexpected call from ILF Ambassador and music icon, Jessica Mauboy, and proudly taught her a well-loved song (head, shoulders, knees and toes) in Tiwi and Mangarrayi, before ILF Ambassador, author and performer, Gregg Dreise sung the song in Gamilaraay Yuwaalaraay. The students joined in singing in three different languages, from three different places!

Indigenous Literacy Day celebrates and promotes the revitalisation and preservation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages now and for future generations of Indigenous children.

As a class we also read the book, Mad Magpie.

School Value Reward time

Mrs Rush awarded every class with an hour of free choice time in response to the whole school community showing respect for ourselves by not drawing on our skin. 1/2 students chose this time to complete a range of games on Reading Eggs, do some free writing, free drawing and board games.
