Patient Centred Care Workshop

The World Patients Alliance (WPA) and the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), are delighted to announce our strategic partnership.
Both organisations have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which provides a clear framework for the partnership between the two organisations. Through this partnership, WPA and ISQua strive to improve the quality and safety of patient-centred healthcare around the world. This framework includes activities such as information exchange, organising joint projects, promoting and participating in each other’s activities and publishing joint statements on important healthcare issues.
Andrew Spiegel, Chair of WPA stated that “we greatly value our partnership with ISQua. The current pandemic and other rising healthcare issues make it more important that we enter into collaborations and partnerships with other healthcare stakeholders for the much-needed improvements in healthcare worldwide. Our partnership with ISQua will bridge the gap between the patients and healthcare providers globally.”
Anna Edwards, Patient Representative on the ISQua Board said, "I am delighted ISQua has created a new partnership with the World Patients Alliance- both organisations are dedicated to safe person-centred care and ensuring co-production is at the heart of global healthcare. I am looking forward to ISQua, ISQua’s Person, Family and Carers Advisory Council and the WPA joining forces to share learning, drive improvement and influence the future for patients everywhere.” This sentiment was echoed by ISQua’s CEO, Dr Carsten Engel.
In this regard, we are organising our first collaborative online workshop on person-centred healthcare, which will be held virtually on the 5th of September 2022. This workshop's audience will be patients and healthcare professionals from all over the world.
This workshop will bring together expertise and insight on Person Centred Care and Co-Production from countries around the world with a lecture on how we define Person Centred Care along with practical examples from both a patient and clinical perspective with speakers drawn from a variety of different countries and settings.
The session will end with a Q&A panel enabling the attendees to discuss the workshop's content as a group and leave with ideas on how to promote person-centred care in your own organisations.
