Religious Education & Pastoral Care

Mrs Bearman

Assistant Principal & Religious Education Coordinator

Prayer

Lord, help me to keep my eyes on Heaven.

Help me to be one who is wise in the ways of grace, mercy and goodness.

When I am tempted to live only for this world, help me to see what is of true value and stay focused on that alone.

Jesus, I trust in You.

Amen.

REC Conference

Last Thursday and Friday I was fortunate enough to attend the Term 3 Religious Education Coordinators Conference in Armidale. The 2 days consisted of a number of presenters including: Bishop Kennedy and our Director, Chris Smyth. Throughout the 2 days we covered topics from the Faith Formation Framework to the Agreed Practices in Religion. There was a number of key content I took away from this conference with the focus of implementing this into our school context.

Catholic Missions Month Next Term

On return to school in Term 4, we will be holding a fundraiser for Catholic Missions. During October, all schools in our Diocese will be celebrating 'Socktober'. Our Year 5/6 class have planned some fun activities for students to get involved to help out disadvantaged children from Ethiopia.

To prepare for Socktober, students are encouraged to dust off their crazy socks ready to wear to school and to start thinking of some ideas to make a sock puppet or recycled soccer ball to bring to school.

Stay tuned for more information in the next newsletter.

Parish Mass Times

Please join our Parish to celebrate the Eucharist. Our Parish offers three Mass times every weekend.

Saturday - 5.30pm

Sunday - 9.00am and 5.30pm

8th September The birth of Mary

On the 8th September the Church celebrates the birth of Mary, the mother of Jesus. She is also the mother of all who follow Jesus, so we call her our Blessed Mother. People of every nation and language honour Mary. They have given her many titles of respect.
