Staffing Changes for Stage 3

Miss Phoebe O’Shea has been seconded to the Catholic Schools Office on a part-time basis in the role of Early Career Teacher Coach until the end of the 2023 school year.  Miss O'Shea will commence her new role next term, continuing to teach Stage 3 on Monday and Tuesday, and working in her new role on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. As Miss O'Shea's replacement from Wednesday to Friday, we warmly welcome Miss Holly Maxwell to St Joseph’s for Term 4.

We know you will join us in congratulating Miss O’Shea on this secondment and welcoming Miss Maxwell to our school community.

Footy Finals Week

To celebrate footy finals week students may wear their team colours to school on Wednesday. The canteen will be open this Wednesday for fun footy food (limited menu only for recess and lunch). Please remember to place your order by 9am on Wednesday morning.

Thank You Mr Hewitt

Over the past 4 weeks we have been blessed to have Mr Hewitt join our St Joseph's Community, completing his Cert 4 in Learning Support. Thank you for your calm and nurturing approach to our students and being an asset in the Learning Spaces and on the playground. It has been an absolute pleasure to have you a part of our school team. We wish you all the very best in your future studies.

Afternoon Pick Up - Crown Street

A reminder that students who are being collected from school in the afternoon are to wait inside the school gate for their parent/carer. Students are not permitted to walk to parked cars for obvious safety reasons. Parents/carers may wait in the Church grounds and, when sighted by the teachers on duty, students may walk to their parent/carer.

Hair and Uniform Reminder

A reminder that patterns shaved into hair, dyed hair or 'rat's tails', 'horsey', undercuts or mullets are not permitted at school. Children with long hair should wear it tied up off their shoulders in a ponytail or braid and only school-coloured ribbons/bows are to be worn in the hair.

We remind parents that students must wear their school uniform as intended with the correct school socks, ties and black shoes. All students should either have the new navy school bag or the older blue one. Both nail polish and make up are also not permitted at school.

Summer Uniform

Students will return for Term 4 in their summer uniform. The summer uniform is to be worn with the regulation school navy short socks and black leather school shoes. Please ensure that all hats and jumpers are labelled with your child's name.

Regulation School Bags

The St Joseph's school bag is part of our uniform and we ask that students, particularly those in Kinder , Year 1 and Year 2, continue to use their navy regulation school bag. Please keep non-regulation school bags for weekend or mufti day use only.

New Sport Shorts

Our new sport shorts are in stock and available to purchase from Lowes in Peel Street.

Compass

If parents need to alert the school to home arrangements for their child or any change to their daily routine please contact the office in the first instance as teachers do not always have time to check their emails during the school day.

If your child has an appointment and will be arriving at school late please do not enter this on Compass. Only enter absent notes if your child will be absent for the day or longer.

Canteen - Volunteers Needed

The canteen is once again open this term on Thursdays and Fridays. Please be sure to place your order by 9am the day the order is required. The canteen also requires volunteers to help Mrs Lobban for a couple of hours. If you have some free time please contact the office to express your interest.
