PnC News

Hello families,

Comedy night is coming up!

Hopefully you have seen the posters on the streets and flyers come home with the kids: The second annual MPS comedy night will be held on Sunday 23 October from 5pm until 10pm.

This is a grown-ups only event, so book in those babysitters!

After the unfortunate ‘lockdown pivot’ of the 2021 Comedy Night, we are all thrilled to be organising this event in person this year. The show will be held in the school hall, with the performing arts room transformed into a dancefloor for the second half of the night.

MPS parent, comedian and host Claire Hooper (The Project, The Gala) has curated a stellar lineup of comedians to entertain us: Nazeem Hussain (The Weekly, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!), Annie Louey (Melbourne Int’l Comedy Festival, JOYfm), Bron Lewis (Good Sheilas Podcast, RAW Comedy winner) and Laurence Driscoll (Melbourne Fringe).

And even if no one manages to make you laugh (unlikely!), there will be pizza, drinks, a raffle and a silent auction too.

All members of the school community are welcome, so invite a friend and join us for a night of laughs to raise funds for our new library. Other schools have had great success with comedy nights as a fundraising exercise and a great community experience and with this brilliant line-up ours is sure to be an incredible night.

Book now because tickets are limited and it will sell out! www.trybooking.com/CBSMG

Bunnings BBQ result

The PnC wish to thank everyone who gave their time for the Bunnings BBQ last weekend. The profit from this event was $2506 which is an excellent result! Huge thanks to our volunteer servers and helpers: Maria Giordano, Will Bond, Nicola Deal, David Ewing, David Ostberg, Bridget Smith, Patrick McCabe, Gary Thurgood, Andrew Hudson, Brione Johnston, Peter Shelley, Tamie Jones, Vikki Nash, Jane Martin and Kate Graham.

It brings the total profit raised for the school from PnC events throughout term three to $7197!

What does the PnC do for our school?

If you’re in the school grounds at pick-up or drop-off, swing by our Parents Noticeboard (near the Buddy Bench). There you’ll be able to find out more about the PnC and the value it offers to our school, as well as keep updated about upcoming school social and fundraising events.

You can also find out about upcoming events via Compass, our Facebook Group and WhatsApp groups.

As always, we recognise that not all parents & carers have the capacity to volunteer or donate to our fundraising efforts. We welcome all efforts, not matter how small. If you are interested in helping our school in a way that suits you, or you have a fundraising or social event idea, you can email us any time at morelandps.pnc@gmail.com

Enjoy your holiday break everyone, see you all next term.
