Last week the celebrated book week with a wonderful Book Week parade. It was such a wonderful celebration where we saw students so happily showing off their amazing outfits. It was also the first time we had a chance to use the new streaming equipment generously provided to the school by the PFA. This equipment has not only made streaming easier to do but improved the quality of the stream we’re able to achieve.

Getting the stream happening was a team effort that has allowed the Year 6 ICT leader, Kenath (6A) and his assistants, Nathan (6C) and James (6C), to take on key roles. This means students now have an avenue to expand their skills with Audio/Visual technology and assist with the running of the assembly.

For those interested, the streaming setup uses several sets of Hollyland Mars 300 Pro video transmitters to wirelessly send a video signal from a camera to our specialized mixing unit, the ATEM Mini Pro. This unit makes mixing multiple camera angles a breeze and also allows us to incorporate wireless audio signals. This means that we can capture audio straight from our microphones or mixer for a clearer sound. Hopefully this means that our streamed events can give families who are unable to attend a taste of the live events.

We look forward to incorporating this equipment more regularly into our school’s activities. Please look out on Compass for postings to the streaming links and any further updates.
