Our Coffee Van!

It was great to see so many enjoy our Wednesday morning Coffee Van. The gathering of parents and friends enjoying a cuppa was larger than expected, so thank you Sandie for initiating this and supporting this opportunity for community connections.

Similarly we have also been pleased with the number of orders received for Classroom Cuisine lunches and the positive feedback. Continue to enjoy, everyone!

NAPLAN 2023

Year 3 and 5 NAPLAN results are scheduled to be mailed to you at the beginning of next week. We commend all students who did their best during the exams earlier in the year and there is much to celebrate. Please be aware that this year has introduced some changes to the students' Proficiency Standards. The Department of Education will be providing further guidance for our interpretation of NAPLAN results, but as an interim guide we have been advised that results listed as "Strong" indicate your child is working at the expected level. Further information is included with your child's NAPLAN results.

WELCOMING PARENTS AND CARERS

We wish to draw your attention to two upcoming events in our Term 3 calendar.

Firstly, on Thursday 3rd August between 9 and 11am you are invited to join our classes on an open morning. The focus will be numeracy and this is an opportunity for you to observe how our Maths lessons are taught. This initiative is a response to parents indicating they would like deeper understanding of you their child's learning.

The second opportunity to connect to our school is Thursday 10th August for our Parent Consultation Evening. We will run focus groups to seek feedback on what is working well at our school but also aspects to consider for improvement. Further details to come.

Honouring Sarah Foster

The support we have extended to each other over recent weeks has provided strength whilst we also experience sadness. Our students, particularly those taught by Sarah Foster, have certainly balanced both. As we continue on we are mindful that stages of grief will still be experienced and support will always be available. Reach out to us if you feel your child needs a guiding hand.

We are continuing to explore how we will remember Sarah. Her class is reflecting with artwork which will be published for Sarah's family. Our Year 3 students are discussing an appropriate memorial for Sarah.

Thank you for your poignant messages in the Condolence Book. This will remain available until next week.

BPS CAKE STALL - SATURDAY 26 AUGUST 8AM

This year the Year Ones are hosting a cake stall for our school. On Saturday the 26th of August you will find us outside the IGA in the concourse, Beaumaris. The stall will run from 8am until 1pm (unless sold out prior).

The Stall is a wonderful event for our school, not only does it raise very important funds for Beaumaris Primary but it provides a fantastic opportunity to meet other families. We look forward to having a terrific turn out from the local community to pick up some delicious treats!

We kindly ask that all families contribute to this important BPS event. If you could please bake something for the cake stall, we would be most grateful. We have found that whole cakes are a particularly popular item, as well as slices, boxes of cupcakes and biscuits which can be sold as a 6 or 12 pack. Please avoid things like cake pops are they are harder to sell as an individual item. Please package your item, include an ingredients list and please no cream (nuts are okay, provided they are clearly labelled).

The cakes/treats will need to be dropped off at the school staffroom by 10:00am at the latest on Friday 25th August.

Cakes cannot be accepted directly at the cake stall.
