Student Success and Exciting Opportunities with German

Recently Macleod students achieved wonderful results in their German speaking. There were around 35 Regional Finalists in Years 07 - 09 who had gone to the effort of learning their poems off by heart and presented them with flair to the judges in the superbly decorated library on Thursday 10 August.

Not only did all participants receive an official certificate and special goodie bag of rewards, but several Macleod students gained gold, silver and bronze medals competing against visitors from Bundoora Secondary and Catholic Ladies College.

Macleod College was therefore proudly represented at the State Finals for German Poetry last Saturday 26 August. Warm congratulations to Nika Heydariasil and Owen Johansen of Year 07 and Amylia Thornbury of Year 08, who are pictured with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe on the day.

Five Macleod families have also recently put in an Expression of Interest to participate in our exchange to Germany with Viewbank College next year so exciting times ahead!
