This is from Rita Pearson’s TED Talk ‘Why every kid needs a champion, ’on you-tube.
I recommend it to all who care for kids.

Here is the next instalment from ‘150 ways to show kids you care’. Enjoy trying out some of these strategies.
Exploring Resilience Day:
This week, I provided a time and place for us to consider resilience. There were lots of resources available.
These included these books: ‘The Okay Book.’ ‘Good Day Bad Day’. ‘I like myself’. ‘Happy thoughts are everywhere’. ‘Cloud’s best worst day ever’ and ‘Ruby Who?’.
There were lots of posters, as well as strategy cards for students to take and use.
Now that I have built up these resources, I can use them when I meet with individual students as well. Feel free to contact me if you think your child would appreciate support in this area.
Community Support: Thank you to our Meal Train and Toast Tuesday volunteers. We appreciate your help.

Second-hand uniforms: We have plenty of winter items, so check them out on Tuesday mornings!
Emergency food items: Visit us before school at Toast Tuesday if your family would appreciate some extra food. Otherwise, you can contact me by phone or email.
FRIDAY FUN FACT: The Barbie doll’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts, from Willows, Wisconsin. Her birthday is March 9, 1959, when she was first displayed at the New York Toy Fair.
That means that Barbie has been around much longer than most of our school community … not as long as me though. Does anyone have the same ‘birthday’ as Barbie? I wonder how many have seen the latest movie.
