Year 8 Art

This term Ms McLellan's Year 8 Art class have been exploring drawing, we have trialled drawing the hand with pencil, drawing the body of a small mannequin with charcoal and this week we looked at drawing with a machine. The question of 'Can a machine make art?' was discussed and we explored the concept of ownership and value of art after looking at the artificial intelligent artist AI DA. Take a look at her explaining her work on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxbo_nLK45o

Here are some photos of the Year 8 class experimenting with their own designs for a machine that can draw whilst collaborating as a team.

 VCD Holiday Materials Experiment workshop

During the last week of term break, several Year 12 VCD students came to KSC to work on their folios. They were all hard at work and very creative and productive, trialling a variety of methods and mediums. Their experimentations have allowed them to proceed with their final presentations and developments of their folios.

It was great to see so many students attend and show their commitment to the subject of VCD.

Well done Team 12 VCD

Art Space

During Art Space the students experimented with scratch back materials, creating beautiful colourful artworks with only a wooden stick. Some students made amazing birthday cards for their friends. It was really awesome to see what people created.

Any students wishing to join us in Art Space on Mondays at lunchtimes are most welcome.
