NAS (Northern Associated School) Sport

Next week, Monday 25 March -  Wednesday 27 March we have our final round robin game for summer NAS against Sacred Heart College. Following this round, teams finishing in positions 1 - 4 will have their finals the following week. Details of finals will be sent directly to students via email. 

 

A reminder that if a student cannot meet their commitment, they need to give the teacher in charge adequate notice.

ACC Squad & Swimming Training (Years 7 -12)

Students in the John XXIII College ACC Swimming Squad have been notified in homeroom. Students in the ACC squad are encouraged to attend training. Especially if they do not train elsewhere.

 

Swimming training is open to students of all ability levels. Training is on from 7:00am - 7:50am at the College pool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday until Monday 25 March. No nomination to attend training is needed, simply attend on the days you can make it.

Cross Country Training Years 7 – 12

Cross Country training will commence on Thursday February 21 from 7:00am - 7:50am meeting in the College pavilion. Training is open to students of all ability levels. Training will continue on Tuesday and Thursday throughout Term 1 and into Term 2. No nomination to attend training is needed simply attend on the day(s) you can make it. Distances run vary from 4km to 7km depending on ability level.

John XXIII College ACC Swimming Team – Wednesday 27 March HBF Stadium

Good luck to all students competing for John XXIII College in the ACC A Division Swimming Carnival at HBF stadium on Wednesday 27 March. A reminder that students are required to meet in the gym at 7:45am on the day of the carnival.

 

The ACC team in age division, information letter and ACC program booklet are attached. John XXIII College finished second overall in 2017 and 2018. Results will be posted in the newsletter when available. Thank you again to all students and staff that have been involved in the Interschool swimming season.

ACC All Stars Netball 2019 - Player nominations now open

Player nominations for the ACC All Stars Netball Match are now open to all ACC school students. The ACC All Stars netball team will play against the SSWA team at the State Netball Centre. The date and time to be confirmed).  Please note, in previous years the game has been scheduled prior to the WANL grand final games.  This arrangement has not been confirmed by Netball WA as yet.  The event could be scheduled on a separate date which would allow all selected team players to be available on the day.

 

Trials

Team selection trials will be held on Saturday 6 April from 11:00am – 2:00pm, and Sunday 7 April from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Corpus Christi College gymnasium.  Coaches will initially select a squad of players to compete in a trial match for a final team selection.  The trial match will be held 2-3 weeks prior to the competition date in Term 3 (TBC).  Please note, players who were selected in the final team last year or who are national or state representatives will automatically pass through to the trial match in Term 3.  However, they are still welcome to attend the initial trial sessions.

The nomination process is as follows:

  1. School provides attached flyer to interested/talented students.
  2. Students complete their nomination form on-line on the ACC web site http://www.accsport.asn.au/interschool-sport/representative-teams/netball/nominations/player-nomination-form .
  3. ACC will reply to each individual student when we receive their nomination on-line.

Positions are open to netball players from Years 9 – 12. 

**Players MUST be of representative quality and capable of playing at U19 level**

Congratulations

Congratulations to the John XXIII College students that participated in the Port to Pub, particularly the group called 'Sink or Swim' who completed the Port to Pub in 5 hours 23 minutes. Placing them 1st  in the Juniors, 1st Ladies and third overall in a team of six. The team was made up of the following John XXIII students:
