NETBALL NEWS

On Tuesday in week 4, Mrs Savage, Mrs Ianelli, Ms Crofts and Ms McMahon took: Two year 7/8 Girls

One year 7/8 Boys

Two year 9/10 Girls and

One year 9/10 Boys to compete in the Netball All Schools Cup in Griffith. All teams played exceptionally well with one of the year 7/8 girls teams and the year 7/8 boys teams advancing onto the regionals in Wagga later this term. I would like to thank the teachers for coaching them and wish the teams all the best in Wagga.

Reconciliation Cup at Collina Oval

 

On Friday 26th May, Marian along with Griffith High and Wade High attended the inaugural Reconciliation Cup at Collina Oval. The day was designed to develop awareness, celebrate and understand the Aboriginal Culture on such an important National Sorry day. The day united the 3 high schools with a touch competition, cultural dance, music and traditional foods. I would like to thank all students and teachers Mr Moore, Ms Foschi and Mr Le Cornu who attended day and I hope this will be an annual event.

AFL News

AFL – On Tuesday 30th May , Mr Morris and Mr Le Cornu took the Open Boys and Girls AFL sides to compete in the Giants Cup at the Exies Oval. Whilst our teams were up against some very strong opposition from Leeton and Wade, their coaches were impressed with their level of sportsmanship and effort on the day. I would especially like to congratulate all the students who participated and Mr Morris and Mr Le Cornu for their work organising the day

Issac Testoni represented in Under 15s AFL CCC Team competing against Combined High Schools and Combined Independent Schools in the NSW Team Selections.  Isaac played extremely well in representing MCC.

SOCCER NEWS

 After strong wins against Wade High and St Francis, our Bill Turner Girls side has progressed to round 5. Congratulations to the girls and to Ms Foschi and Mrs Centofanti and I wish them good luck in the final.

The Bill Turner Boys side has also enjoyed strong wins against Wade High and Albury High to advance to round 4 against Mater Dei Catholic College on Wednesday 14th in Wagga. I wish the boys and Mr Dal Nevo and Mr Abdala luck on Wednesday.

CSO DIOCESAN SOCCER REPRESENTATIVE TEAM

Students from MCC represented our Diocese at the CCC Championships at Valentine Park, Sydney  on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 May.  Teachers from MCC Nadine Johns, Gabriel Abdula and Jamie Gibbs accompanied the students.  Well done to all involved.
