With the lovely spring weather upon us, it has been the perfect time to roll out the pizza oven, and that we did! With an amazing crop of produce coming out of our Stephanie Alexander garden, the students have been busy working on a beautiful spring lunch menu consisting of:
• Silver beet, mushroom and feta pizza, topped with fresh rocket
• Spring broad bean salad, with broccoli and snow peas
Many of the students were unsure about the flavour combinations at first, though looking at their empty plates at the end of the lesson, it was obvious it was a winner. We talked a lot about the process of making the dough. What the yeast is for and just how easy it is to make fresh home-made delicious pizza!
