ECP Sports Day/Sportovní den ECP
We had our traditional ECP Sports Day on the second to last day of this academic year. Congratulations to Terra for winning among the houses and thanks to everyone for creating a great sporting atmosphere and for a fun day!

Předposlední den školního roku proběhl Sportovní den Anglického gymnázia. Blahopřejeme koleji Terra, které zvítězila mezi kolejemi, a děkujeme všem za vytvoření skvělé sportovní atmosféry a za zábavný den!

Table tennis tournament/Turnaj ve stolním tenise
I think the most remarkable thing for me, that I noticed throughout the tournament, was how well everyone played. I have played table tennis for a club and looking back at all the people I have seen, the students here really put on one amazing show. The level was quite impressive. I was also impressed by the ability of some teachers.
We had plenty of people, however it seemed that boys were mostly the more interested ones. We had several girls who took part, and I hope for the future there will be more. Maybe splitting the tournament into girls and boys will be a good idea to try for next year.
We had plenty of close matches where the students gave their best and took a sportsmanlike approach to the game itself. They would shake hands and cheer each other on. The document with results from the tournament is attached.
In my opinion it went well. We had about 40 students taking part and they were happy with the competition. It was more challenging finding a player from each house in each year group, so that the number of games played would have been even.

Nejpozoruhodnější věc, které jsem si v průběhu turnaje všiml, bylo to, jak dobře všichni hráli. Hrál jsem stolní tenis za sportovní klub a když se podívám na všechny studenty, kteří se zapojili, musím říct, že úroveň byla poměrně působivá. Byl jsem také ohromen schopnostmi některých učitelů.
Akce se účastnilo velké množství lidí, převažovali chlapci. Zapojilo se i několik dívek a doufám, že v budoucnu jich bude více. Možná můžeme příští rok zkusit rozdělit kategorie na chlapce a dívky.
Byli jsme svědky spousty těsných zápasů, kdy studenti ze sebe vydali to nejlepší a chovali se sportovně. Potřásli si rukou a fandili jeden druhému. Výsledky z turnaje jsou přiloženy.
Dle mého názoru šlo všechno dobře. Zúčastnilo se zhruba 40 studentů a byli se soutěží spokojeni. Nejtěžší bylo najít hráče z každé koleje a každého ročníku tak, aby byl počet hraných her vyrovnaný.
