Principal Post

Dear Families,

The Sacrament of Eucharist was held last evening within the Parish for several  our present Year 4 and Year 5 students. We congratulate these students and pray that they will continue to be nourished in their faith through the Eucharist.  May  these children always know the support of their family, friends and Parish community.

Our End of Year Liturgy

Yesterday we celebrated the end of our  school year with a beautiful Liturgy thanking God and asking for continued blessings. It was a fitting way to finish our School Year. This was led by our Year 6 students  and streamed into all classes.  I thank everyone for their participation.

Farewell

To all  our Year 6 students & families who are leaving our school, we once again say thank you for your wonderful contributions. You are always welcome at SJV.  To other students who are moving to a new area thank you for all you have given to SJV! We wish you well at your new schools.

And finally,  to our staff who are retiring or moving to new adventures, our blessings. Whilst I have written about each person in previous newsletters, I once again reiterate that your contributions, care expertise and professionalism have been second to none! On behalf of the SJV community we thank you!!  You have  been amazing!

John R Hannah Hostel Christmas Gift

Jessica and Cyrella (SJV Social Justice Captains) presented a student-created stand and a plant to the hostel last week. This was a Christmas present from all the students and staff of St John Vianney's. It was very well received and we hope to see it in a nice spot at the hostel when the students and staff can finally return for our visits.

Staffing

Attached is a Staffing List for 2022. Please print and keep for  your reference. I will update you should there be any further staff changes.

2022 Student Captains

All year 6 students are considered our student leaders. Last week we announced the Year six  Captain's roles.  This is the culmination of a thorough process which began last month with a student leadership workshop day facilitated by an external group who work in this area. Students  wishing to nominate for a Captaincy Role were then invited to prepare and deliver a speech outlining why they would be a good candidate.  Students from year 4 and year 5 listened to these speeches and voted for their peers. This process ensures that it is not a popularity competition.  Captains are validated by the school staff. We congratulate all students and the Captains who have been elected for 2022.
