Cristina Elicano: Year 3/4 Classroom Teacher

Hi everyone,

My name is Cristina Elicano, and I am the Year 3/4 teacher this year. I've taught across all year levels, but this is my first time teaching the Year 3s, so it's an exciting time for me.

I originally went to school to be a banker and then studied to become a primary school teacher. I have been teaching for 20 years and love it! So if you put your mind to something, believe you can do it, and achieve great things!

My favourite part of being a teacher is making a difference in my students' lives. Seeing them grow because I've engaged and inspired them to be their best self is the most rewarding feeling. Holy Family School is also very special because I feel like I belong here.

I love to travel and spend quiet weekends with my family. In the new year, my family and I went to Keast Beach, near where I live. Don't I look very relaxed in the photo? I love the feel of the sand between my toes, feeling the gentle breeze of the sea, listening to sounds of the waves, and just being.

For this school year, I hope to make our school, just like the beach, a place that makes us relaxed, safe, challenged and happy. There's no happier place we'd rather be.

Cristina Elicano
