Lea Drury:
Year 6 Classroom Teacher
Lea Drury:
Year 6 Classroom Teacher
Hello! My name is Lea Drury, and I am the year 5/6 teacher at Holy Family this year.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years and love seeing the faces of every one of my students each day. I enjoy the fact that there are so many different personalities in each classroom and so many different ways that students can learn.
For myself, teaching at Holy Family is and always will be about the students. I love the diversity of our school and the way the students are so accepting of each other. I love their determination to learn and their enjoyment of experiencing new things. I constantly endeavour to make sure that my classroom is a safe, fun and welcome space for my students to learn in.
My holiday snap reflects something new that I decided to do during the holidays. A few years ago, I travelled to Japan and fell in love with the county and its people. I aim to head back there before the age of 50, so I decided that to make my experience even better, I would like to understand (and hopefully speak and read!) the language.
My photo reflects what I hope to achieve with my students: A love for learning and understanding that learning is a lifelong journey. I strive to help them experience those "Aha!" moments of understanding and the joy that comes with learning new things.
I am excited for all that this year will bring, and I hope you are too!
