Indonesian & Visual Arts Specialist

Selamat Pagi! (Good Morning!)  

My name is Pak Kris (Mr Kris), and I am the Indonesian Language & Visual Arts teacher at H.F. You’ll see me once a week on Friday in our spacious Arts room. 

My passion is to provide the opportunity for my students to express their creativity and create artworks through learning the language of our closest neighbour Indonesia. I love learning and making connections between Indonesian and Australian art and culture, which inspire me to share these passions with my students.

During the school holiday, my daughter and I went to an art exhibition & activity in the REALM library, where we were lucky to meet the exhibiting artist Mimi Leung. I witnessed my daughter enjoy doing the art activity as she had the “ownership” of creating her art. The exhibition reminded me of the importance of providing students with the “ownership” of their learning and creative processes.

As we are all excited to start our 2022 schooling journey, I look forward to learning & growing together again with our wonderful school community. Tuhan berkati & sampai jumpa! (God bless & see you soon!).
