Hema Mariadass:

Community Hub Leader

Hello everyone,

I am Hema Mariadass, the Hub Leader of Holy Family PS. I started as a Hub leader six months ago, and I love my job because Hub is the main entry point for the community. Through the Hub, people connect, share and learn new skills. I want to share my knowledge and skills with the community and be a good role model. I want the Hub to be a place where everyone's culture and values are respected and to make the Hub a second home for our families.

I have 14 years of experience in early childhood settings. I have started as a child care worker then studied for a Diploma of Children Services. I was a room leader for three years in childcare. I then decided to work with children and the community families, so I did a Diploma of Community Services. I worked in child protection as a supervised contact worker and a case manager in family support at the City of Greater Dandenong for 18 months. I worked as a playgroup coordinator for three years and delivered parenting programs at the council for a year. I worked with asylum seekers, new migrants and people of diverse backgrounds. I completed my Training and Assessment course and am currently studying Cert IV in TESOL.

I like working at Holy Family hub because I like exploring different things and learning new things. The Holy Family Hub is a perfect place to share and learn.

During holidays, I spent my time in nature, had fun with my children at LeMans Go-Karting, and had relaxed family time. I want to share the same joy and make the hub environment a safe, welcoming, fun, educative and relaxing place.

I can't wait to see families in the Hub.

Vanakam and Namaste.
