Samantha Semmens:

Learning Support Officer

Senior School

Hi everyone,

My name is Samantha Semmens, and I am a Learning Support Officer at Holy Family. It is such a privilege to work with our children - 1 to 1 and in small groups, supporting them to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding on their incredible learning journeys.

My background is in teaching Literature, which I did for 16 years. I loved exploring characters' inner lives, just as I love getting to know children individually, sharing their interests, and supporting them to reach their goals.

I love spending time in nature, writing, and getting together with family and friends when I'm not at work. My holiday snap was taken at Wattle Park with my nephew-dog Charlie, who belongs to my niece. We had to take Charlie to the vet two weeks earlier because he got into strife with a plant that made him sick. When Charlie and I saw each other at the park, I think he remembered his memorable trip to find him help, and he was so happy and excited to be together again. So was I!

The most important things are looking out for and connecting. I hope you find that Holy Family School is where we all do this too.

Have a wonderful year!
