Year 1/2 Classroom Teacher
Welcome to Term 1 of 2022!
My name is Serena Jordan-Munro, and I am a Year 1/2 classroom teacher at Holy Family School. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught all year levels of primary school, being incredibly passionate about the junior years and supporting students to develop their foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. I have a background in teaching Performing Arts and also studied additional units in Information Technology, which I love to combine with my teaching.
I especially love working with the diverse, caring community of Holy Family School. Our school is exceptional in the positive partnerships between staff, families, and communities and our focus on HEART values, informed by our Catholic identity. Holy Family is a school focussed on educating the whole child, placing wellbeing at the forefront of all that we do.
My holiday snap is me exploring the Ashcombe Hedge Maze in Shoreham. The experience of wandering throughout the maze made me feel a little like a student learning to navigate an exciting new topic! It reminded me of the sense of wonder and curiosity that teachers strive to instil in their students, to teach them to be active learners who ask questions and learn through discovery.
This year, I look forward to supporting students on their learning journey!
