Billson’s Horse-Drawn Carriage Event (Soda Giveaway)

On Wednesday the 22nd December, Billson’s will be spreading the Christmas cheer by driving their horse-drawn carriage through town and handing out free cans of soda. The carriage will leave Billson’s at approximately 11.30 am. Stops will include Quercus, Police Paddocks, the front of the swimming pool and the playground at the Lake. Santa will be on-board the carriage, and there will be photo opportunities with the horse and historic carriage. Stay tuned to Billson’s social media for more information.

Dear Primary Schools,

I am pleased to announce the Big Summer Read is taking place at Indigo Shire Libraries these summer holidays!

The Big Summer Read aims to arrest the ‘summer slide’ by engaging children and their families in a fun and dynamic campaign through public libraries, supported with resources such as a user-friendly website, posters, downloadable activity sheets, stickers, badges—real and virtual. A competitive element with locally sourced prizes provides added incentive for participation. Distinctive state-wide branding encourages participation in the program, whether children are at home or on holidays elsewhere in Victoria.

We would love to enlist your help by promoting the program to your school community! I invite your teachers and library staff to promote this program to students and their families. The attached information about the Big Summer Read could also be included in your school newsletter.
